Competing in the men's Open World Vaulting Championship Brno (Czech Republic) 2008
Kenhardt achieved the highest score of the South African Vaulters in the Compulsories with a score of 6.657, followed by an excellent freestyle score of 7.160 giving him a total of 6.908 and placing him 19th overall.
Kenhardt, who lives in Pretoria and trains in Kyalami at Riba Stables, did most of his preparation in Germany with Silke Jens and Andrea Kay, he competed on the stallion Catalin belonging to Petr Eim from the Czech Republic.

Unfortunately, the team finished 13 out of the 15 teams after Alexa Stais suffered a very unfortunate injury to her foot. Luckily KJ Baumann was able to replace Alexa in the freestyle at the last minute.
